Juan Usle

19th December of 1954 Santander(Cantabria),Spain

Biography:

Spanish painter. Completes his studies at the Fine Art School of San Carlos in Valencia in 1977. After some early expressionist evolves into a nearly abstract painting with figurative resonances of a specific reason: the seascape and romantic travel shipwrecks or mythical. In 1987 it moved to New York, his paintings are precisely defined by strokes, lines and contours. Always within a certain order, his painting combines the lyricism and power of expressionism. By 1993 his works take as reference the work of Mondrian and the urban landscape of Manhattan, as well as American painting. Currently his work is characterized by the use of broad brush strokes parallel strips running through the fabric surface with great delicacy, a quality that is repeated in the manner of superimposing layers of material diluted with a superb color management.
